Chestnuts are the queens of the autumn season and today we offer you a delicious chestnut-based recipe: couscous and chestnut donuts. The donut recipe is by Francesca Lucisano, a food blogger from Giallo Zafferano.
Ingredients for 6 donuts:
- 100 g of medium couscous;
- 200 ml of milk;
- 100 g of sugar;
- 50 g of chestnut flour;
- 50 g of all-purpose flour;
- 50 ml of vegetable oil;
- 1 egg;
- 1 packet of baking powder for desserts;
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
Method:
Pour the couscous into a bowl and soak it with warm milk. Let it rest for 10 minutes, then fluff it with a fork.
Add the vanilla sugar, sugar, and egg, and continue mixing the mixture with a spoon. Add the flours and vegetable oil and mix again.
Finally, add the baking powder and give the mixture a final stir. Divide the batter into a donut mold and bake in the oven at 180°C for 20 minutes.
After this time, remove from the oven and let cool. Serve!
