Couscous bars with almonds and chocolate

When school or kindergarten starts, it’s time to think about tasty and energetic snacks and breakfasts. Here are the couscous bars with almonds and chocolate. The recipe is by our food blogger Francesca Lucisano.

Ingredients for 6 bars:

  • 100 g of Kids couscous
  • 100 ml of water
  • 30 g of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 30 g of almonds
  • 50 g of dark chocolate
  • 50 g of cornflakes
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

Preparation:

Heat the water with the sugar in a saucepan, then remove it from the heat and add the couscous. Let it rest for 10 minutes, then fluff it with a fork. Add the butter, honey, and mix well.

Add the cornflakes, coarsely chopped almonds, and coarsely chopped dark chocolate. Mix well and pour the mixture into a 20×20 cm baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Level well and bake in the oven at 180°C for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool, then cut into bars and serve.
