Whole Wheat Couscous Breadsticks

The breadsticks made from couscous are a snack that everyone loves and can be prepared at home with just a few steps. Perfect for a summer aperitif paired with creams or cold cuts. The couscous breadstick recipe is by our Francesca Lucisano.

Ingredients for 12 breadsticks:

  • 100 g of whole wheat couscous
  • 100 ml of lukewarm water
  • 100 g of all-purpose flour
  • 30 g of grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt to taste

Preparation:

Pour the couscous into a bowl and rehydrate it with water. Let it rest for 10 minutes, then fluff it with a fork.
Add salt, Parmesan, and flour.

Mix well and transfer everything to a work surface. After kneading, break off small pieces of dough and stretch them with your hands to form breadsticks.

Place everything on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated static oven at 200°C for 30 minutes.

After this time, remove from the oven and serve at the table.
