Looking for Christmas recipes to prepare with children? Here are the Christmas trees! Sweet cookies with cocoa and couscous, perfect for the festive season. The recipe for the Christmas Tree Cookies with Couscous is by our food blogger Francesca Lucisano.
Ingredients for 4 trees:
- 100 g of Kids Couscous
- 100 ml of water
- 100 g of sugar
- 150 g of butter
- 250 g of all-purpose flour
- 50 g of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- A pinch of cinnamon
For the glaze:
- 50 g of powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon of water
Preparation:
Pour the couscous into a bowl and add the water. Let it rest for 10 minutes, then fluff it with a fork and add the egg, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix very well, then add the butter and dry ingredients.
Knead everything well until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. After this time, roll it out to the desired thickness and cut the cookies into your preferred shapes.
Bake them in a preheated static oven at 180°C for 10 minutes. Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool.
Prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and water, and pour it into a parchment paper cone.
Assemble the trees by placing the largest star at the base, add a teaspoon of glaze, and place another star on top until you reach the top with the smallest stars. Decorate with colored sprinkles and serve.
