Chocolates with hazelnuts and couscous

Homemade chocolates are a lovely gift idea for any occasion. Here is our version with couscous. The recipe for chocolates with hazelnuts and couscous is by our Anna Attanasio, food blogger at Giallo Zafferano.

Ingredients:

  • 30 g of organic couscous
  • 30 g of hot milk
  • 70 g of spreadable chocolate 60 g of hazelnut crumbs
  • 60 g of milk chocolate
  • 30 g of white chocolate
  • 150 g of dark chocolate
  • hazelnut crumbs as needed

Preparation:

Pour the organic whole couscous into a bowl, add the hot milk. Stir, cover, and let it rehydrate for 10 minutes. After the resting time, fluff it with a fork.

Melt the milk chocolate together with the white chocolate in a bain-marie or microwave and stir. In a bowl, pour the hazelnut crumbs, add the melted chocolate and the spreadable chocolate. Mix until you get a homogeneous mixture, then add the fluffed couscous and continue mixing.

Place the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, after the resting time, take the mixture and, taking small amounts, form balls (about 15) by rolling the mixture between the palms of your hands.

Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie or microwave, using a fork, dip them in the chocolate until completely covered.

Place them on a sheet of parchment paper, before the chocolate solidifies, add hazelnut crumbs on top as desired, and then put them back in the refrigerator until the chocolate has solidified.
