Ham rolls with couscous salad

Did you know that with couscous you can prepare truly special and appealing appetizers without any stress? Today we are making ham rolls with couscous salad with tuna, mayonnaise, and pickled vegetables, perfect for a Christmas appetizer! The recipe is by our Fernanda Nicotra, food blogger at Giallo Zafferano.

Ingredients:

  • 5 slices of cooked ham
  • 100 g raw couscous
  • 80 g mayonnaise
  • salt to taste
  • extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • 100 g pickled vegetables (julienne)
  • 80 g tuna in oil (drained)
  • to taste cherry tomatoes (for garnish)
  • to taste parsley (for garnish)

Preparation:

To prepare this delicious couscous-based appetizer, start by placing it dry in a bowl. Adjust the salt and add a drizzle of oil, pour boiling water over it, stir, cover, and wait ten minutes.

When the couscous has rehydrated, fluff it with a fork and let it cool. Cut the pickled vegetables into smaller pieces using scissors and add them to the couscous along with the drained tuna and mayonnaise. Mix well.

Lay the ham slices on the work surface, fill them generously with couscous, and roll them gently without breaking.
Spread some mayonnaise from the total on a plate, place the rolls on it, decorate with pickled vegetables, parsley, and cherry tomatoes, and serve.

You can also prepare this appetizer a few hours in advance and store it in the fridge covered with plastic wrap. Consume within 24 hours.
